Thousands of parakeets have made an abode for themselves, bang in the middle of Bangalore's crowded K.R.marke, their home.
This ornithological wonder- barely 100 feet from the City Market flyover which is notoriously noisy -is drawing huge crowds.
Seasoned bird- watchers and ornithologists alike are a surprised lot.
Dawn and dusk are the most busy hours around the temple. Yet, that is hardly a bother for the birds.
According to bird experts, the parakeet is a social being whcih lives in groups. He said the birds might have come here for security reasons. They usually feel secure from predators when people are around. Two kinds of parakeets are sighted here including the common rose ringed parakeet ( with rose ring around the neck) and uncommon blossom headed parakeet ( yellow color on tail).
