India snatches a victory or two in its encounters with foreign teams in cricket. It's highs may be flash-in-the pan affairs but these days an element of professionalism has crept in. They do fight back.
If they do not take an early lead, they bounce back to show signs of resistance.
Certain individuals have carved out a name for themselves in the game of cricket. Sachin Tendulkar , Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and V.V.S. Laxman can be cited. They are instrumental in a few cases of guiding the team to victory.
When India wins, there is talk of the highly 'plausible'. Whether India is no.1 or no.2 in cricket in the world. But as soon as they are raised on a pedestal 'crash' comes down the 'red flag'. India plummet to an innings defeat against South Africa. They may not be world-beaters but they have proved they have what it takes to 'fight back'.
